  • The process of laser hair removal is easy and quick. The area will be cleansed first and a hand-held laser device will be passed over the treatment area, delivering pulses of light energy to the hair follicles. Each pulse takes a fraction of a second and feels like a small rubber band snapping against the skin.

    There is usually no downtime after laser hair removal, although some patients may experience redness, swelling, and itching around the hair follicles. These side effects usually resolve within a few days.

  • The results of Laser Hair Removal on each area will vary. Multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired effect. The results of each treatment usually last for several weeks to months.

  • Laser Hair Removal is most effective on dark hair. Multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired effect. Laser Hair Removal is not recommended for use on blonde, red, or gray hair.

  • A free consultation with one of our Laser Hair Removal Technicians is the best way to determine an estimate on how many laser hair removal treatments are needed to reach your desired results.

    We typically recommend a series of 4 - 6 treatment sessions, spaced 6 - 8 weeks apart.

  • Laser hair removal is considered a safe and effective treatment, but like all medical procedures, there are some risks and side effects associated with it. This procedure can be associated with the following:

    • Mild to moderate discomfort or pain.

    • Slight redness or swelling of the skin, lasting up to one week or more.

    • Tenderness lasting several days.

    • Sun sensitivity in the treated area. Avoid the sun and use sun block with at least a 30 SPF.

    • Acne Breakout may follow laser hair reduction treatments.

    Although rare, the following are risks and complications to Laser Hair Removal:

    • Laser therapy can result in blistering, crusting, or flaking of the treated areas, which may require one to two weeks to heal. Once the surface is healed, it may be pink or sensitive to the sun for an additional two to four weeks, or longer.

    • With some devices, bruising of the treated area may occur. Additionally, small bumps may be present; these need to be kept clean to prevent infection.

    • During the healing process, there is a slight possibility that the treated area can become either lighter or darker in color compared to the surrounding skin. This is usually temporary, but, on rare occasions, it may be permanent.

    • Scarring is a rare occurrence, but it is a possibility when the skin's surface is disrupted. To minimize the chances of scarring, it is important that you follow all post-treatment instructions carefully.
